The fundamental driver of organismal aging, that arrest permanent growth of cellular senescence which is controlled by both genetic and epigenetic factors. It is found that systematic study on the instrumentation of few genes can treat aging.
Researchers have found more than 100 types of senescence promoting genes out of which when 50 of the candidates were inactivated caused cellular rejuvenation. Among them, KAT7 was identified as the topmost target that slows down cellular senescence.
It increased mesenchymal precursor cells during physiological and pathological aging. The over-expression of KAT7 accelerated cellular senescence thereby rejuvenating cells and slowing down the process of aging which may lead to longer life too in normal cases.
