What is Plogging?

Plogging is in the first line of the trend around the world right now. Plogging is a combination of jogging with picking up litter (Swedish: plocka upp). It started as an organised activity in Sweden around 2016 and spread to other countries in 2018, following increased concern about plastic pollution. As a workout, it provides variation in body movements by adding bending, squatting and stretching to the main action of running, hiking, or walking. [from Wikipedia]

Not in a Plastic bag, then WHAT?

We will carry a bag in our hands. All in all, not a plastic bag. Burdwan Foodies Club will provide the bag.

For the first time in Burdwan, Burdwan Foodies Club is bringing a bag made of jute polymer which is similar to the polythene bag and its 100 percent biodegradable.

  • This time, on our way to the road we are on the Morning Walk, we will pick up plastic bottles or polythene bags/leftover in the road and drop into our bags in the morning.
  • Next, we will dump the collected plastic in the garbage car or garbage dumping site. This will then reach the municipality, where these can be recycled.

That way, not everyone, at least some people and if they come forward to post photos of their work, then the rest of us will be inspired and come forward. That’s our goal. Let’s trend it. Legs together.

Plogging Challenge starting date:

The day has been fixed on Children’s Day (14 November 2019), just next Sunday, November 17th. From 5 am in the morning. We want to start this work from all over the city together. Then spread it every day.

We cannot do this alone. We want all of us. I urge everyone to come forward. Let’s make it a trend. We have a better future for that. Not for ourselves. Not for show-off.

To all, if everyone joins us, then the growing city will come down to it and another revolution. And that would be a huge shock. The entire state will be compelled to follow this model. Let’s change!

Everyone join the Burdwan Foodies Club in this challenge. Sunday 5th November, on Children’s Day.

Post with hashtag #plogging_bfc

Do this yourself under your own community’s banner. Burdwan Foodies Club is just giving the platform. Carry your phone with you, do live plogging, capture moments and post them in the Burdwan Foodies Club group and your own social timeline with the hashtag ‘#plogging_bfc‘ to spread the awareness among everyone else.

Spread a road map across the state and across the country. The city is for the city. Clean society – Clean Earth.

Invitation/Collaboration

If any other company or group or person would like to work shoulder to shoulder with us. Do not go all together at one time, one foot at a time. This is our city, our mother, so we need to keep it clean.
