Astronomers have found a glimpse of the oldest light in the universe from the observatory situated in Chile above the Atacama Desert. Their observation along with cosmic geometry infers the universe is 13.77 billion years old.
The new estimate made using the data gathered in the National Science Foundation’s Atacama Cosmology Telescope (ACT) matches that provided by the standard model of the universe.
It also correlates well with the observation made with the same light by the European Space Agency’s (ESA) Planck satellite which measured the remnants of the big bang published in the Journal of Cosmology and Astroparticle physics
